Let our designs inspire you towards something uniquely yours.

We don’t have a collection of invitation templates. Every event is distinct and we think your invitations should be, too. Please note, we work exclusively with clients represented by event planners.

Let’s Talk

Whether it’s face-to-face or over the phone, we begin our design process with a conversation: brainstorming ideas, reviewing your inspiration and discussing options. (415.676.7090 or design@adayinmay.com)

Let’s Prepare

After our conversation, we’ll send you a detailed estimate. When approved, we’re ready to begin your design once we receive a 30% deposit and all of your text.

Let’s Design

Since every client and event is different, every process is different. Designs are emailed as PDF files. We typically go through 3-4 rounds of design, finessing and perfecting art and text with each round.

See For Yourself

Below is a summarized example of how the process worked for the newly-engaged Mina and Morteza.

Design Round One

Mina and Morteza wanted a minimal, elegant invitation. After our conversation, we decided to capitalize on their common first initial, “M”, and create a custom monogram. We started with a soft palette of greys and greens and a look that was more classic than modern. In the first design round, we focused on monogram, font and color options, showing them eight designs that allowed them to make choices that would set the tone for their other pieces.

Design Round Two

After the first round, Mina & Morteza decided they preferred a calligraphic monogram and an all-gray color palette. They picked their body text font, but they wanted to see their names written in calligraphy that matched the monogram. Here are two of the options that we showed them.

Design Round Three

The couple selected their final monogram, a simple script for the names and two colors of soft gray ink. Our next step was to apply those choices to a final invitation and tie the design into the reply set, details card and main envelope liner. Take a look at a few of those options below.
